KARACHI, April 12: Higher Education Commission (HEC) athletes made their presence felt on debut when they won the double gold in the gymnastics event at the Physical Education Gymnasium on Thursday.

Besides winning the women team events with 60.80 points, HEC’s Mariam Kerio was declared the best gymnast of the competition. Mariam also jointly won the floor event with 7.80 points with Saher Shakir of Sindh who also completed her double by capturing the vault competition with 7.80 points.

Shazia Ijaz secured silver and Tabbasum Kerio of HEC took the bronze.

Army athletes continued their domination in the team event when they retained their title with 135.70 points, leaving WAPDA and Railways way behind at second and third spot.— APP
