Family seeks man’s autopsy

Published April 8, 2007

ISLAMABAD, April 7: The family of a man who died in a private hospital has sought autopsy to ascertain the actual cause of death, sources told Dawn here on Friday. Mohammad Tariq, a resident of Al-Noor Colony, was brought to a private hospital in Sadiqabad where he died during treatment.

The family then took the body to Pims for autopsy. However the administration told the family to ask the local police to request the hospital for the autopsy.

The family then contacted Shahzad Town police who reached Pims but when they came to know that Mr Tariq died in a private hospital which was in the jurisdiction of Sadiqabad police station, they refused a lodge a request for the autopsy.—Staff Reporter
