Budget preparation

ISLAMABAD, April 7: The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has constituted a revenue committee for the budget preparation of 2007-08, said a notification issued here on Saturday.

With the constitution of the committee, the government has formally started preparation for the upcoming budget to be announced in June.

According to the notification, Member Direct Taxes Salman Nabi has been appointed as Chief Coordinator and Chief CBR (Management) Saeed-ur-Rehman as coordinator for the revenue budget 2007-08.

All the proposals regarding income tax, sales tax, customs duty and federal excise duty will be sent to the committee for consideration in the up-coming budget, added the notification.
