QUETTA, March 30: A Judicial Tribunal investigating into police action against lawyers in Quetta on March 21, completed the work of recording statements on Thursday. Twelve police officials, including Quetta DIG (operations) Rehmatullah Niazi, recorded their statements before the tribunal headed by Justice Ahmed Khan Lashari.
The tribunal will finalise its report in a couple of days for submission to the Supreme Court.
PROTEST: Lawyers on Thursday continued their token boycott of proceedings of courts in Quetta and other district headquarters for on the sixth day in protest against the suspension of the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
The lawyers did not attend the hearings for one hour from 10:30am to 11:30.
Two lawyers Qari Rehmatullah and Malik Amin observed a token hunger strike in the bar room of the Balochistan High Court from morning till afternoon.—Correspondent
