LAHORE, March 29: The manager of Pakistan World Cup squad, Talat Ali on Thursday said he shifted floors at Kingston’s Pegasus hotel on the instruction of hotel's security staff following coach Bob Woolmer’s mysterious death about a week ago.

Talking to Dawn immediately after his meeting with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Operating Officer, Saleem Altaf, Talat though avoiding media querries, clarified that he was not the only one who shifted out of the floor that had coach’s room on it.

"I was the last one who changed the room on the instructions of hotel's security staff," he said.

"First, it was West Indian greats Clive Lloyd and Brian Lara who shifted their rooms from the floor and I only followed them," he disclosed.

Talat said he was staying pretty close to Woolmer’s room and the hotel manager informed him about his death.

“When I reached the spot, medical staff was giving Bob some medical treatment and according to the doctor, the coach was breathing. But sadly, he was later pronounced dead in the hospital,” he said.

The former opener added that he would be submitting his report on the West Indies tour in the next couple of days but refused to talk to the media about it.

"I am going to Islamabad to meet the chairman and after that, I will be in a position to speak to the press," said Talat.
