MUZAFFARABAD, March 28: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Supreme Court on Wednesday issued a contempt of court notice to the AJK High Court registrar for entertaining a writ petition against the appointment of the Chief Justice of Azad Kashmir.

It directed the high court not to entertain in future any petition amounting to contempt of judges of the apex court.

According to a handout issued by SC registrar Fazil Hashmi on Wednesday, high court registrar Sardar Munir Ahmed Khan was served a notice by the apex court’s Justice Khawaja Shahad Ahmed, asking him under what authority of law the writ against the “judges” of the apex court had been entertained by him.The handout said the HC registrar, who appeared before Justice Ahmed with record, said the writ had been submitted in the office of deputy registrar Javed Iqbal who raised some objections to it.
