LAHORE, March 28: Fine attacking game helped Kuwait beat Pakistan 3-0 in the Olympics football qualifying round U-21 Group 'A' match at the Punjab Stadium under floodlights on Wednesday.
The win helped Kuwait to remain unbeaten after playing three matches of the group. It was the third consecutive defeat for the home team.
The game was played at a slow pace, though, occasionally the Kuwaitis made fine moves, showing they had a game plan against the home team which could hardly launch any impressive attacks. The visitors went into the lead in the 31st minute through Fahad Shaheen who received a fine cross pass in the box from left by Hamad Alenezi and wasted no moment in deflecting it into the cage to make it 1-0.
Nine minutes later, Hamad made no mistake to consolidate the lead when Aziz Rakeb made a fine move from the left side to feed a sharp pass to Hamad who found the net to leave goalie Ghulam Nabi guessing.
Kuwait ended the first half at 2-0.
In the second half, Kuwait continued to attack. It was in the dying moments of the match when Bader cashed in on a scoring chance off a pass from Rahman Alawahdi to seal the fate of the match.
