KOHAT, March 28: A bomb planted outside a CD shop in Kohat was defused by the bomb disposal squad of the Pakistan Air Force on Tuesday night. The explosive device had been planted outside a shop in the Nawab Market on the University Road, which is opposite the PAF base. Rumours are rife here that an anonymous organisation had distributed handbills in the Jungle Khel area, warning the people to remove their cable connections within a week otherwise their houses would be attacked. However, this could not be confirmed.

It may be recalled that last Saturday some unidentified men had planted an explosive device at a CD shop in the Al Falah Market on the same road. The explosion destroyed the signboard, computers and shattered the glass of the shop.

Following the incident, which occurred in the Cantonment area, military authorities had closed several entrances to the area with the exception of the Thandi Sarak (The Mall).
