KARACHI, March 28: City Nazim Mustafa Kamal has sought help of city police for effective implementation of municipal laws and asked them to maintain coordination with the city government on permanent basis.

He was speaking at a meeting of police and city government officers on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by DIG Operations Mushtaq Shah, EDO Revenue Saleh Farooqi, EDO Works and Services Amanulah Chachar and other officials.

The nazim underlined the need of close coordination between city government and police to benefit citizens. He said officers from both departments should work together for getting positive results.

He said it was the responsibility of city government to provide maximum civic facilities to people while it was the duty of police to provide safety to the citizens and their belongings, but in some sectors the city government and police needed each others help and coordination.

Mustafa Kamal emphasised that the area police should keep a vigil on all those people who violate municipal laws.

The DIG Operations assured the nazim that police would extend full cooperation to the city government.

CNG BUSES: The nazim informed a delegation that CNG buses were required for the provision of better transport facilities in the metropolis.

Talking to the delegation of SAMMI Daewoo-Pakistan Express Bus Service, he expressed hope that the company would start its service in the city soon.
