SIALKOT, Mach 26: Dacoits shot at and injured a trader and his son on offering resistance and took away valuables in different hits here on Monday. Reports said trader Ejaz Ahmad and his son Mohsin Ejaz were on their way back home in Dara Araiyaan-Hajipura locality after drawing Rs0.5 million from a bank on Paris Road, Sialkot city. Near Dara Araiyaan, three motorcyclists held them hostage at gunpoint. On offering resistance, the accused opened fire, injuring them seriously. They decamped with the cash. The injured were admitted to a local hospital in a critical condition.
Hajipura police have registered a case with no arrest or recovery.
Later, the local trader community expressed its grave concern over the incident and demanded early arrest of the accused.
In another incident, four dacoits made off with gold ornaments, cash, mobile phones, two motorcycles and other valuables at gunpoint from the hospital of Dr Arif Lateef at Wadala Sindhuaan-Satrah, Daska on Sunday night.
Reports said the robbers stormed in to the hospital-cum-residence, held hostage all family members and took away valuables.
Satrah police have registered a case.
As many as seven bandits stormed into the house of one Shahida Parveen at Aadamkey Cheema, Daska Saddar, held hostage the inmates and took away cash and jewellery worth Rs100,000.

HEROIN SEIZED: The Daska City police on Monday arrested a Peshawar-based drug trafficker, Abdul Qadir, while selling narcotics at a CNG filling station near BRB Canal Daska.
The police recovered 4kg of fine quality heroin worth millions of rupees from him.
Police have registered a case and are investigating.
