Ghalia, Ayesha in TT final

KARACHI, March 24: Ghalia Khursheed and Ayesha Khan cruised into women’s singles final of the Amroha Club ranking table tennis tournament at their premises on Friday.

Ghalia accounted for Noureen Tehseen 11-3, 11-5, 11-13, 11-8, 13-11 while Ayesha Khan overcame fighting Maliha Khursheed 11-7, 11-5, 7-11, 11-9, 9-11, 11-8.

Islamia Club and Jamia Millia Schools fought their way in the women’s team event final. Islamia outplayed Shahwilayat School ‘A’ 3-0 while Jamia Millia defeated Shahwilayat School ‘B’ by the identical margin.

Women’s team event (semi-finals):

Islamia Club bt Shahwilayat School ‘A’ 3-0 (Urooj bt Rabha Akhtar 11-5, 11-4, 11-3; Quratul Ain bt Rida Hassan 11-9, 11-5, 11-6; Urooj/Quratul Ain bt Rabha/Rida 11-3, 11-7, 11-5).

Jamia Millia School bt Shahwilayat School ‘B’ 3-0 (Maliha Khursheed bt Marium Anis 11-3, 11-4, 11-5; Anum Saeed bt Madiha Hassan 11-2, 11-4, 11-3; Maliha/Anum bt Marium/Madiha 11-7, 11-2, 11-4).

Women’s singles (semi-finals):

Ghalia Khursheed bt Noureen Tehseen 11-3, 11-5, 11-13, 11-8, 13-11; Ayesha Khan bt Maliha Khursheed 11-7, 11-5, 7-11, 11-9, 9-11, 11-8.
