SIALKOT, March 24: Migratory birds from Siberia and other Russian regions have returned to the bordering villages inside Pakistan territories. People living in the border villages along the working boundary see the flocks of birds flying over their heads and landing there.
They told this correspondent on Saturday that the birds had come to the area due to abundance of fresh water after recent rains in the catchment areas of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
In the past, these birds had diverted their route to India due to water scarcity in Pakistan, they added.
Although it is time to return home, Siberia, recent rains have kept the temperature low and delayed the departure of these birds.
On the other hand, a big number of the poachers have also started reaching there for hunting.
Expressing grave concern over the presence of poachers in the areas, the local people have urged the government to take effective measures to halt illegal hunting.
