KARACHI, March 23: The National Museum of Pakistan on Friday opened a special exhibition on its premises in connection with the Pakistan Day in which some rare documents in original, letters, pamphlets and photographs of freedom fighters were put on display for the public.

The exhibits included a letter of the Central Khilafat Committee, dated September 5, 1926, Bombay.

Another letter of this committee dated May 13, 1926, a notice regarding a meeting of All India Muslim League, Daryagunj, Delhi, dated July 12, 1946, the Rules of National Guards, AIML, an appeal by different notables supporting Liaquat Ali Khan in the 1946 election, an appeal of Allama Shabbir Ahmed Usmani to the Muslims of India to attend the Calcutta session, April 18, 1938, three tickets bought by Liaquat Ali Khan to participate in the Calcutta session on April 18, 1938 are among the exhibits.

A letter of Raja Mahmudabad to Nawab Waqar-ul-Mulk, notice of the meeting of AIML by Liaquat Ali Khan, April 1, 1943, a message of the Quaid and Liaquat Ali Khan for the All India Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, booklets on the constitution and rules of the AIML, 1941, 1942 and 1943 resolutions of the AIML from December 1938 to March 1940, presidential address by Khan Bahadur Shaikh Abdul Qadir at Delhi, 1926, the constitution and rules of the AIML, 1937, were also on display.

A significant number of people from different spheres of life visited the National Museum and read the historic documents with interest.

The exhibition will continue till April 5, 2007.
