KARACHI, March 21: Seven ships carrying chemicals, general cargo and to load cement are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was slow as only one container vessel, APL Yokohama was berthed after the departure of three.

The ships, which departed included Oel Esteem, Chetty Botiglieri and Mol Kouri, while APL Yokohama, Zyed, African Cobra, Iran Baabaei, Kota Gunawan and Victoria are due to sail out on Thursday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was modest where a total tonnage of 66,028 tons comprising 15,446 tons of export cargo, including 2,747 tons of rice and 4,516 tons of cement and 50,582 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Thursday; Pacific Arrow and Al-Wakra, to load 10,000 and 5,000 tons of cement, Oriental Bouguet, Chemstar, Sea Glory, with chemical and to load lube oil, Orient Independence, with containers.
