KHAIRPUR, March 19: Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz Chairman Basheer Qureshi has said that existence of Sindh and Sindhi people appeared to be under threat in a country which came into existence with tireless efforts of their ancestors.

Addressing party workers, lawyers and citizens on court road on the second day of the Paigham-i-Sindh long march here on Monday, he said that the long march was aimed at telling the world about the injustices being meted out to Sindhis.

He said the army chief and his coterie swung into action against chief justice the day he took suo motu notice of missing persons.

He extended outright support to the lawyers who took to the streets in defence of human rights and restoration of CJP.

He termed rulers’ hue and cry over provincial autonomy merely a lip service and condemned snatching of Sindh’s resources by Punjab and the federation.

The long march, he said, was not initiated to seek votes from the people but its main aim was to awaken the people and to snatch the usurped resources of Sindh from the ruling clique, besides recovering those taken away by the agencies from Sindh and Balochistan and to vent people’s anger against sale of Dingi and Bhindhar islands.

He said that Nara areas of Khairpur district, including Sawan Wari, Qadan Wari and Chundko, were full of natural resources containing oil and gas but regretted that these were controlled by aliens while Sindhis were not even being employed as peons or watchmen.

He said that the royalty generated through these fields was neither being utilized for development of the district nor for Sindh.

He demanded water share under 1945 agreement and said that Indus River was property of Sindh.
