KARACHI, March 18: Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim says all decisions being taken by President Pervez Musharraf, including the Presidential Reference against Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, are according to the constitution.

“No one is above the law,” Dr Arbab Rahim told PPI on Sunday afternoon at Chief Minister House before leaving to attend a high-level meeting in Islamabad.

He said opposition parties who had earlier failed were now trying to protest with a few advocates who were members of their parties.

He defended the policies and programmes of President Musharraf and observed that these were benefiting the masses and improving their standard of living throughout the country.

The chief minister said that during his three-year tenure he ensured good governance, restored writ of the government, brought all round socio-economic development in the rural and urban areas of Sindh. The overall situation in the province was satisfactory, he added.

“We have shown our performance to the people and served them without any discrimination. We hope people would give us another chance to serve them in a much better manner by giving us vote in the upcoming general election,” he said.—PPI
