ISLAMABAD, March 17: Acting Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Javed Iqbal on Saturday directed the SP (Investigation) Ghotki, Sindh, to make every possible effort to arrest the remaining five accused nominated in the Ms Naseema rape case.

The 16-year-old girl was kidnapped and allegedly gang-raped by 11 persons in Habibullah Chauhan village, near Ubauro in Ghotki district.

April 5 has been fixed as the next date of hearing.

The SP submitted a report before the Supreme Court that hectic efforts were being made to get the culprits arrested. He said the six accused had been arrested and after the investigation a challan had been submitted in the court against them.

In another human rights case, the acting chief justice directed the SP (Investigations) Faisalabad to depute a team, consisting of a Deputy Superintendent Police, a Sub-Inspector and three constables, to procure and produce Usra Siddiqui, along with her husband, Sajjad Munir, on the next date of hearing.

Sardar Ahmad Siddiqui, father of Usra Siddiqui, submitted an application expressing apprehensions about security of his life. He said that Sajjad Munir had threatened him with consequences.

The acting chief justice directed the DPO Hyderabad to provide necessary security to the father of Usra Siddiqui and his family. The next hearing of the case was fixed for March 28.
