HYDERABAD, March 17: Over 40 members of Dadu district administration finished a three-day training programme in the "New Accounting Model" (NAM) at the Indus Hotel on Saturday, which is part of a series of district-based training programmes to be organised under the newly-launched USAID-funded "Districts That Work" (DTW) project.

Dadu is one of the six districts participating in the DTW project.

Dadu DCO Ijaz Ahmed Mangi said in his message that "NAM is a transition from the old accounting practice to a more efficient automated accounting system".

The training would help equip drawing and disbursing officers (DDOs) with the skills required to make a smooth transition to the new system and undertake systematic and accurate budgeting, he said.

USAID official Tehmina Kazmi said that the project’s objective was to help district and taluka governments better service delivery through improved management and greater participation of people in government planning, budgeting and decision making, she said.
