Chichawatni blast suspect arrested

SAHIWAL, March 16: A dispenser was arrested from a doctor’s clinic for his alleged links with the banned Lashkar-i-Jhangvi and involvement in the Chichawatni bomb blast. Reports said the police picked up Hafiz Abdul Rehman from the clinic in Farid Town and shifted him to some unknown place.

The blast on Feb 24 had claimed the lives of three terrorists who were later identified as Maqsood Teddi, Akhtar Dogar and Hafiz Adeel. The police had taken into custody some 150 suspects out of which 137 were released after preliminary interrogation. The police are now quizzing 13 people. Zahid Butt, the main accused, was taken by the Multan police where a special team was interrogating him for his alleged involvement in bomb blasts in Multan. — Correspondent
