KINGSTON, March 15: The Pakistan team management would be seriously considering the option to induct pacer Mohammad Sami in place of all-rounder Rana Naved-ul-Hasan in their next World Cup match against Ireland on Saturday.

The Sheikhupura-born Naved had great a one-day series against the West Indies back home but struggled in South Africa and in the World Cup opener against the West Indies here on Tuesday.

Naved received some thrashing from Ramnaresh Sarwan, whose aggressive knock in the end proved a vital factor in his team’s triumph in Kingston.

Naved’s failure with the bat against the West Indies at Sabina Park, where he could score just 11 off 29 balls besides recording an ordinary 0-49 in nine overs was a great cause of concern.—APP
