NAWABSHAH, March 13: Residents of Hussainabad Colony, Linepar Nawabshah blocked the Sanghar Road in protest against continuous power breakdown on Tuesday.

The protesters led by Mohammed Laiq Jamali and Ghulam Shabbir Jatt blocked Sanghar road by staging a sit-in. They also burnt tyres and raised slogans against Hesco’s officials. The traffic remained suspended for two hours.

They said that some fault developed in the transformer after Sunday’s rain and since than there was no electricity in their colony.

They said that they made several complaints but no notice was taken which was creating hardship for the people.

They demanded the Hesco chief to take action against the negligent officials and ensure uninterrupted power supply.

CONDOLENCES: Chairperson Pakistan Peoples Party, Ms Benazir Bhutto and Asif Zardari had sent their condolences over the loss of lives and injuries to Samjhota Express victims. She, in a letter said that it was a matter of grave concern that the life of travellers was not safe because of terrorism.
