KARACHI, March 13: The Sindh government set up a stall to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS at Bhit Shah during the Urs of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai last week.

According to a press release, the health department’s AIDS Control Programme selected Bhit Shah for the purpose as thousands of people throng the place during the Urs. Booklets and pamphlets containing information about AIDS were distributed and a film, Zindagi Pyari Lage, was screened, the press release said.

The health department plans to organise more such programmes across the province to make people realise that awareness and prevention are the only tools to fight the scourge, the press release said.
