KARACHI: Nadra franchises kiosks

Published March 10, 2007

KARACHI, March 9: The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) is expanding its utility bill payment network by franchising its kiosks, it is learnt.

According to sources, the network is initially being expanded in seven cities – Karachi, Hyderabad, Multan, Faisalabad, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Islamabad – and would later be extended to other cities as well.

Sources said that on one hand the masses would now have more places to may their utility dues and on the other small businessmen could obtain the franchise and earn additional income.

They said that the Nadra would provide kiosk machines, against a security, and operational and maintenance support and the businessman would earn according to the bills collected at their franchise.

The application form for the franchise will be available at the Nadra’s regional headquarters from March 13 and could also be downloaded from its website. —Staff Reporter
