KOHAT, March 8: A grand jirga of the Bangash tribe of Mohammadzai has warned that if political authorities of Orakzai Agency did not demarcate the boundary between their village and the Bezote area within 10 days, they will not allow officials to use the route.

Participants of the jirga also asked the administration to vacate their area which, according to them, had been illegally occupied by the Bezote tribe.

Speaking at the jirga held on Thursday, area nazim Noor Mohammad Bangash said the dispute had been lingering on since 1971 when Orakzai Agency was carved out of the Kohat division. He said there had been many bloody clashes over the issue.

He said they had been asking the government to resolve the issue of demarcation, but to no avail.

He warned that if the issue was not resolved within 10 days, they would not allow the assistant political agent of lower Orakzai Agency to pass through the area.
