KARACHI, March 8: The Consul General of Poland in Karachi, Ireneusz Makles said on Thursday that dialogue between the three monotheistic religions was very important to ensure world peace. He said this during a visit to Jamia Islamia Clifton.

He said Islam, Christianity and Judaism were important religions and it was necessary that dialogue be initiated between them to better understand each other.

He said religion should not be misused to spread violence, hatred, and that all the people should work together to follow the path shown by their religions, all of which promote peace and brotherhood.

He said a series of dialogue among the scholars and intellectuals of the three faiths be encouraged, as inter religious dialogue was an important source of better understanding each other. No religion preached hatred and enmity among people, in fact they all promote affection and tolerance for each other, he added.

Mr Makles said he was impressed by strong faith in God by Muslims and pointed out that Islam did not allow anyone to inflict harm on any person nor encourage violence. He said that Holy Prophet (PBUH) stressed on seeking knowledge, extend love and compassion to people of other religions.

He was briefed about the madrassah by the principal Mufti Abu Hureira during his visit.
