KARACHI, March 7: Residents of different areas experienced prolonged and intermittent power suspensions on Wednesday.
A caller from Nashtar Basti Old Sabzi Mandi said power supply to his locality was suspended at 7am and restored at 5.30pm. He said due to the prolonged power suspension the area people also faced shortage of water, especially in the mosques.
A resident of Pakistan Bazaar said power supply to the shopping centres was suspended at 9am and restored at3 pm. He said faulty power supply lines were causing frequent disruption, but KESC officials were not taking serious steps to replace the cables.
Another consumer form Korangi Industrial Area said the area was the worst hit as the power was regularly suspended with short intervals. He said despite the repeated shutdowns the consumers were given no relief in the monthly bills, adding that power supply to his locality was suspended at 10am and restored at 12noon.
Complainants from Qasba Colony said they experienced a prolonged power suspension on Tuesday night from 9pm to 11.30pm, adding that power supply was also suspended on Tuesday from 9am to 4pm.
