LAHORE, March 6: A meeting of the ARD will be held in Islamabad on Thursday to discuss matters concerning the multi-party conference to be held in London, the alliance’s senior vice-president said on Tuesday.

Nawabzada Mansoor Khan, who is also president of the Pakistan Democratic Party, told reporters that Makhdoom Amin Fahim would brief the participants why Ms Benazir Bhutto was not willing to attend the moot. Also, he said, the ARD chairman would take the participants into confidence on differences between the PPP and the PML-N on the related issues.

Mansoor Khan believed that the APC would be a great success and herald a process of changes on the country’s political scene.

He opposed the suggestions that the term of the assemblies should be extended by a year keeping in view the turmoil in the region.
