PESHAWAR, March 6: NWFP Minister for Education Maulana Fazle Ali Haqqani has urged the West to change its attitude towards Islam as there is no room for terrorism in it.

“Our religion teaches peace, tranquillity, tolerance, mutual coexistence and brotherhood,” said the minister, adding that seminaries were imparting knowledge and wisdom, and promoting moral values. They were playing the role of best NGOs in society.

Maulana Haqqani was talking to the GTZ authorities in Berlin. He is currently on an official visit to Germany.

Maulana Haqqani apprised the GTZ authorities about the MMA-led NWFP government’s reforms agenda in social sector, particularly education and health. GTZ officials were appreciative of the MMA reforms and hinted at continuing technical and financial support of the NWFP government in the social sector.—APP
