TANK, March 3: A police patrol party was attacked allegedly by the local Taliban here on Saturday night, leaving two people injured.

The attackers first hurled a hand-grenade at an armoured personnel carrier (APC) and later opened fire injuring constable Fayyaz and a civilian passer-by.

Witnesses said that personnel of the law enforcement agencies were on petrol in a pick-up and an APC. They came under attack when they reached the Durand Gate here in the main bazaar.
