VEHARI, March 1: The Mailsi Saddar police arrested on Thursday the man who allegedly killed a woman and her two sons at Chat Wahin on Feb 22.
Police recovered the bodies of Bashiran, the wife of Anshab Ali, her sons Abdul Razzaq, 14, and Sajjad, 9, from her house on Wednesday.
They arrested Muhammad Waryam alias Iqbal Wasli on the complaint of Inayat Bibi, the mother of Bashiran.
Police said the accused confessed during interrogation that he had illicit relations with Bashiran whose husband worked in Karachi. He stabbed her on the night of Feb 22 when she refused to lend him some money. Later, he strangled her two sons and threw acid on their faces after their death and buried them in the house.
However, Inayat Bibi said her daughter was married to Yasin of Chak 303/EB (Burewala) about 16 years ago and gave birth to Abdul Razzaq. But she was divorced over the issue of exchange marriage (Watta Satta) and later married to Anshab.
She said Waryam wanted to marry Bashiran. He had been forcing her to get divorce from Anshab and marry him. On her refusal, he axed her to death and strangled her sons.
According to her, the accused locked the house after the murders so that no one could suspect him. However, the smell of the bodies exposed the incident.
Meanwhile, police sources claimed that some influentials of the area were active to save the accused. They also contacted the police.
