SWABI, March 1: The United Kingdom’s Department for International Development (DFID) will help complete sanitation and water supply projects in 39 union councils of the Swabi district.

Sources told Dawn on Thursday that the DIFD team had visited the district on Wednesday and the Tehsil Swabi nazim Hanif Jadoon and Tehsil Chhota Lahor nazim Shahroom Khan briefed the delegation about ongoing DIFD schemes in the district.

The sources said that 36 union councils had been identified in the Swabi tehsil and three in tehsil Chota Lahor where the DFID had been working on sanitation and water supply schemes.

GAS SUPPLY: Swabi nazim Shahram Khan on Thursday said that Topi, Zaida, Swabi city, Maneri, Swabi Khas, Salim Khan Kotha and Gandaf had been included in first phase of the project to supply natural gas to the district.
