Stallions make it two out of two

KARACHI, Feb 28: Sialkot Stallions continued their winning spree in the ABN-Amro One-day Gold League Cup with a four-wicket success against Lahore Eagles at the NBP Sports Complex here on Wednesday.

Despite losing the first four wickets for 18 runs — including Atiq-ur-Rehman, Shahid Yousuf and Ayub Dogar for ducks — the Stallions reached their target of 171 in the 43rd over with Shahzad Malik (59 off 88 balls, five fours), Abdur Rehman (36), Mansoor Amjad (29) and Hafiz Khalid (25) leading the way.

The Eagles were earlier bowled out for 170 in the 41st over. Pacers Kashif Raza and Tahir Mughal claimed three for 63 and two for 27, respectively while Aamir Sajjad top-scored with 39 for the Eagles.

In Monday’s first round fixture, the Stallions had defeated Peshawar Panthers by an identical margin at the National Stadium.
