KARACHI, Feb 28: A five-member delegation of the World Bank on Wednesday visited Port Qasim to review the existing petroleum supply and imports and also to draw a future framework for strategic storage and stocks of POL products.

The members of the delegation held a meeting with the PQA chairman, Vice Admiral Asad Qureshi, and discussed matters relating to various aspects of petroleum products, from supply to storage and refining.

The World Bank team also discussed matters relating to distribution and needed infrastructure in Pakistan for POL products keeping in view the demand and supply projects.

In this regard, a detailed presentation on infrastructure facilities for petroleum products, such as port jetty, storages, cross-country pipelines, rail wagons, road tanker fleet, distribution depots, retail outlets, financial and economic evaluation of these schemes took place.
