No headway in lawyer’s kidnap case

SAHIWAL, Feb 27: Police could not recover the lawyer who was allegedly kidnapped on Monday evening near the residence of district police officer.

Reports said Muhammad Arshad was returning home at Chak 94/6-R in his car (LEA-5243). Near the residence of DPO, some men kidnapped him along with his car. Civil lines police have registered a case under section 365 of the PPC on the report of Arshad’s brother Muhammad Sarwar.

Arshad had a Rs1.45 million money dispute with one Muhammad Anwar Sethi.

A special police team is conducting raids for recovery.

TAKEN AWAY: Some thieves broke open locks of the house of lawyer Tahir Husain in Hayatabad (Chichawatni) on Tuesday and took away valuables worth Rs200,000.
