KARACHI, Feb 25: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad has said that directives had been issued to sort out the problems being faced by the Pakhtuns living in the province. He also lauded the community’s role in ensuring peace and progress of Sindh.

He was talking to a delegation led by Chairman of the Pakhtunkhwa Thinkers Forum Saeed Khan Khalil, from Peshawar which called on him here on Sunday.

The governor said that all inhabitants of the province were being provided equal facilities without any discrimination and the government was making all efforts to ensure unity and cohesion, besides resolving the problems being faced by any community.

He said any one taking part in the process of development was, in fact, contributing to the country’s progress.

“With the joint efforts by all inhabitants of Sindh belonging to any community, we are endeavouring to make Karachi a cradle of peace and centre of progress,” he added.

He pointed out that peace and harmony had been restored to Karachi, and hoped that peace would prevail in future.

Members of the delegation told the governor that they had appealed to the Pakhtuns living in Sindh not to be misled by the vested interests.

The delegation appreciated the role of the governor, MQM ministers and the party in ensuring peace and prosperity in Sindh, and lauded their cooperation in settling all disputes through negotiations and peaceful means in order to foil the anti-social elements’ designs to disturb peace in the country.
