MIRPURKHAS, Feb 24: Another four people have been confirmed dead in the Samjhota Express tragedy. All four are from the same family belonged to Mirpurkhas.

Fateh Mohammed alias Peerjee (60), his wife Raeesa (50), daughters Aisha (22) and Sahiba (10) and sons Shakeel (24) and Nadeem (11) had gone to Jaipur, India to attend the marriage ceremony of one of their relatives in January 2007.

They had their return journey by the ill-fated Samjhota Express.

After the accident, Shakeel and Nadeem were admitted to a hospital in Delhi while four others remained missing.

To seek information about the missing persons, Haji Ahmed Ali, Peerjee’s younger brother, had travelled to Panipat and Delhi.

On his return to Mirpurkhas on Saturday morning, he told newsmen that the Indian people, doctors and security officials cooperated with him. He said he failed to identify the bodies of his brother and other family members.

Believing that they were among the dead, he returned to Pakistan, he said, adding that the bodies were buried jointly in India.

About Nadeem and Shakeel, he said that the former had been shifted to a Karachi hospital while Shakeel had reached Mirpurkhas.
