According to prosecution, Rafiq Ahmad and Khalid Mahmood had kidnapped Bilal on January 19, 2006, when he was returning home from school in Musakhel. They took the boy to Chidro Mountains and left him with their co-accused Pervaiz Khan, Salim Akhtar and Gul Riaz.

They demanded Rs2 million ransom from the family. However, the family paid half a million rupees ransom and secured the boy’s release.

The court sentenced Rafiq and Khalid and declared Pervaiz, Salim and Gul Riaz absconders.
