MITHI, Feb 22: Sindh education secretary Sabhago Khan Jatoi has said about 20,000 posts lying vacant in the education department will be filled soon.He was talking to journalists after visiting the Girls Degree College and some schools here on Thursday.

Mr Jatoi said that the college would soon get a bus as per promise of the Sindh chief minister. He said appointments on the posts from grade one to four would be made soon.

The secretary said that about 1400 posts of lecturers were lying vacant in Sindh, hence 700 commission-pass candidates would be appointed at these posts, whereas the remaining one would also be filled through the Sindh Public Service Commission.

He said 124,000 primary and 2,600 middle schools were functioning in Sindh and efforts were being made to reopen about 600 closed primary schools.
