GUJRANWALA, Feb 21: The District Bar Association on Wednesday observed a complete strike to protest the killing of provincial social welfare minister Zille Huma Usman.

The judges had to adjourn the cases as lawyers boycotted court proceedings. In a meeting held under the chairmanship of bar president Ilyas Rehan, the lawyers strongly condemned the killing of the woman minister by a religious fanatic. They demanded that the killer should be hanged after completing the legal process soon.

SIALKOT: Lawyers in Sialkot also boycotted courts in protest against the brutal murder of the woman minister in Gujranwala and killings of a judge, lawyers and several other people in a suicide bomb blast in a Quetta court.

Protesting lawyers wore black armbands and held separate condolence meetings on the call of the local district bar association.

They demanded stern action against the accused involved in the gory incidents.
