Tribal elder shot dead

TANK, Feb 21: A tribal elder was shot dead in Tank and another person was killed in the Badar area in South Waziristan Agency, police and sources said on Wednesday.

Police said armed men broke into the house of Malik Karim Khan in the Totkai locality of Tank on Tuesday night and fired on him, killing him on the spot. Malik Karim belonged to South Waziristan and had shifted to Tank due to the security situation in the agency.

Ghulam Khan Megalkhel was killed in the Badar area of South Waziristan on Wednesday. No group has claimed responsibility for the murder. Relatives said Ghulam Khan had no personal enmity.

Meanwhile, armed men snatched an official vehicle from an employee of the Tribal Electric Supply Company near Tank on Wednesday. —Correspondent
