KARACHI, Feb 18: Relatives of a young man fighting for life in a private hospital on Stadium Road have urged the authorities to intervene and make the hospital management allow an independent panel of doctors to examine the patient immediately.

The appeal was made by Nighat Khursheed (mother of the patient), Khursheed Shaikh (father) and Khushnood Shaikh (uncle) and others, who had staged a demonstration at the Press Club on Sunday to protest against the high-handed attitude of the hospital staff who were not even allowing them to see the young patient, Aariz Shaikh.

They said that the reaction of the Aga Khan Hospital to their statement at a press conference held on the issue, that they were using abusive language or extending threats to the hospital staff, was untrue.
