District council by-election

GILGIT, Feb 17: The Northern Areas Election Commission has announced the schedule for by-election for a vacant seat of the district council in Ghizer district.

The seat became vacant after the demise of the district council member from ward-II, Puniyal, Aziz Ahmed, two months ago, said the commission.

It said nomination papers would be submitted on March 3 and objection on the nomination papers would be filed by March 12. The list of candidates is to be notified on March 13. The date for appeals against rejection of nomination papers would be heard on March 14.
