New ambassador to Jordan

ISLAMABAD, Feb 17: Mohammad Akhtar Tufail was on Saturday appointed Pakistan’s ambassador to Jordan.

According to the Foreign Office, Tufail, presently serving as additional secretary at headquarters since December 2005, joined the foreign service in 1978 and held various diplomatic assignments in Pakistani missions in Manila (1982-1984), Hong Kong (1984-1985), Khartoum (1986-1988) Paris (1991-1994), Tokyo (1994-1997) and Moscow (1999-2002).

He also served as ambassador to Uzbekistan (2002-2004).—APP
