KARACHI, Feb 16: A police constable was shot dead on Friday by three bandits in a bungled robbery at a post office in Landhi.

Quaidabad police said dacoits came to the post office near Hussaini Chowk on Adamji Road in Labour Colony. They said the post office staff had closed the door after public dealing timings. The police said the two dacoits knocked at the door while the third one stayed outside on his motorcycle. As the staff did not open the door, the dacoits tried to force their way into the post office.

Police constable, Hashim Khan, who was inside the post office on duty, fired a shot and the dacoits returned fire killing constable Khan and injuring post master Nusrat Raza.
