KARACHI, Feb 16: Five ships carrying crude oil, chemicals and containers are expected arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was fairly brisk where six ships, Kota Permai, Corin Thaikos, Y.M. Star, Oel Victory and Calvin P. Titus to unload and load containers and Xiang Cheng to offload and load general cargo were berthed on Friday after the departure of four.

The ships, which departed included Swat, Mert-E, Xiang Cheng and Lalazar, while Al-Barakah, Calvin P.Titus, An San, Y.M. Star, Mol Asante, F.N.S Var, Corin Thaikos and Oel Victory are due to sail out on Saturday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was on the higher side at 81,070 tons comprising 21,261 tons of export cargo including 2,946 tons of rice, 3,384 tons of cement and 5,600 tons of clinkers and 59,809 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Shalamar, with crude oil, Sutra Tiga, with chemicals, Wan Hai-301, Hayley Nadhi and Aka Bhum with containers.
