KARACHI, Feb 13: The 30th National Games which were postponed earlier will be held in the port city from April 9 to 14. A decision in this regard was taken at an emergency meeting held on Tuesday with Sindh Sports Minister, Qamar Mansoor, in the chair.

The meeting was attended by among others by, Fakir Ayazuddin and Ahmed Ali, president and secretary of Sindh Olympic Association (SOA).

“All issues pertaining to the biennial games have been amicably resolved in the meeting which was held in a congenial atmosphere”, Ayazuddin told Dawn after a marathon three-hour meeting.

The SOA chief said all the participants were excited on the outcome of the meeting and look forward to staging the spectacle in a befitting way.

To a question he said the new dates were also conveyed to the POA.

“A separate joint account for the 30th National Games bearing signatures of SOA president and secretary sports Sindh, Ghulam Akbar Shah Bokhari, will start functioning with immediate effect,” he told when asked as to who will handle the Rs50 million estimated funds.

He said the participants ‘unanimously’ approved the logo designed earlier with minor modifications.

Meanwhile, a high powered meeting regarding the games summoned by the Sindh Governor on Tuesday was postponed. New date will be announced later.
