Doctor commits suicide

MIRPURKHAS, Feb 13: A young doctor committed suicide by shooting himself at his residence in Bashirabad near Old Khipro bus stand on Tuesday.

Dr Jamshed Gilal, 27, son of child specialist Dr Nizamuddin Gilal, came to his house after offering Zohar prayers and shot himself dead in his room.

The motive behind the suicide is said to be a domestic problem. The Town police shifted the body to Civil Hospital for autopsy.

The elder brother of the deceased had gone missing a decade ago in mysterious circumstances.

INJURED: A teenaged boy, Abdul Qadir, was seriously injured when a van hit him at Hirabad Chowk on Tuesday.

He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the Civil Hospital.

LOOTED: Office of a courier service was looted by two armed men in New Town area here on Monday night.

Some armed motorcyclists came to the office of OCS courier service in the jurisdiction of the Town police, held five employees and two clients at gun point and looted Rs25,000 cash, six mobile phones and a motorcycle.
