KARACHI: Scrabble contest

KARACHI, Feb 11: The Pakistan Scrabble Association (PSA) organised a scrabble championship of Master's Group here at a hotel on Sunday.

Wajid Iqbal clinched the first position by winning eight games out of nine in 'A' division. Nafees Anjum secured second slot with six wins and one draw, while Dr Rashid Khan stood third with six wins in the same division.

In 'B' division, Muhammad Iftikhar, Abdul Wahid and Furqan Aslam secured 1st, 2nd and third positions respectively.

Speaking on the occasion, PSA President Goshpi Avari said that efforts were being made to promote the game of scrabble among the people. In this regard, she said a weekly event of three games was organised by the association at a hotel every Wednesday.

Mrs Goshpi said that people of all ages could participate in the weekly event by paying a nominal fee of Rs30 per head.—APP
