LAHORE, Feb 10: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided not to file an appeal against the International Cricket Council’s decision of imposing a four-match suspension on Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi for brandishing his bat at a spectator during the first ODI against South Africa.

PCB Director Cricket Operations, Salim Altaf told Dawn on Saturday that the board had no intention to file any appeal against the punishment handed to the all-rounder by ICC match referee Chris Broad.

The director, however, was also non-committal to say if Afridi, who according to the ban will miss the first two matches of the World Cup besides the two games in South Africa, would be selected for the World Cup.

"The selectors have to handover the World Cup squad to the board by Feb 12 and only they will decide about Afridi," he said.
