Cinema owner’s body fished out

GUJRANWALA, Feb 10: Police fished out the body of the brother of former NWFP chief minister Nseer Khatak of the Upper Chenab canal on Saturday.

Deceased Ikramullah Khatak, a known cinema owner, was kidnapped from Islamabad on Feb 7 and Shalimar Town police station, Islamabad, had registered a first information report against Waqas, his friend, who later confessed to killing Ikram and throwing his body into the canal.

Police said the accused had snatched cash and vehicle from Ikram and shot dead him in Defence, Lahore. Police handed over the body to the heirs after an autopsy.

ROAD DEATHS: Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a tractor-trolley and a four-wheeler on Wazirabad Road on Saturday. Kashif Jashmed was going to Wazirabad from Rasul Nager by his car with his driver. When they reached near Wazirabad, the tractor-trolley collided with his car, leaving him and driver Zulfikar dead. Police have registered a case against the tractor-trolley driver and arrested him.
